{an honest post} Part 2 ~ Your Turn

turning the tables ~ get it? ;-)
So in my fevor to overhaul my life, I thought one good place to start would be to reach out to others.  Today is your turn.  In addition to internally contemplating what it is I should be focusing on here, I think it'd be really helpful to hear what you think I should be focusing on.  What do you like reading here?  Why do you come back?  Who do you think of me as?  What do you wish you heard more about from me?

I think it's an interesting exercise, because who you know me as and who I think of myself as could potentially be different.  In fact, I'm willing to bet they are.  Point in case, I recently attended an {ever-so-fun} blogger event in which I was asked if I cook fairly often.  This made me scratch my head for a moment, as I cook almost every single night!  In my mind, cooking and food is such a huge important part of my life.  But I realize I don't always write about what I'm cooking up in the kitchen.  And maybe I should be... or maybe not.

I promise you can be honest ~ I will not take offense to any constructive criticism!  I so value your readership and my end goal is to take your input and fuse it with my own.  Please leave a comment, email me, tweet me, etc. with your input!  I'm determined to make this year of 2012 really count!

And then after this, we can go back to the regular scheduled program {at least while I sift through it all!} :)

I love reading your restaurant reviews. They are super helpful for me because I tend to frequent the same restaurants in my neighborhood over and over again, so it's nice hearing what else is out there. And yes, I would love to see your cooking featured on here as well. You seem to know what you are talking about when it comes to food, so I bet your own cooking is fantastic! Oh, and I met you in person and you are pretty awesome, so that keeps me coming back ;)

I think your blog is truly fabulous as it is. You give us a little bit of everything - decor, reviews (my favorite), recipes...I've always loved your style and voice. And hey - if you want to write about fashion - go for it. I don't think anyone has to or should feel like they have to fall in a specific category...I think as long as you are true to yourself and your voice...that's all that counts!

Helpful, huh?

I love what you have going on your blog currently -- most of the blogs I follow are pretty eclectic in their content. Your reviews, life stories, decorating, you're a great all-around blogger!

I first started reading you because you're a fellow Chicagoan, and your posts are always so upbeat and cover a really wide array of topics. Also, you go to all kinds of restaurants that I've often never even heard of, and I love reading your reviews. Personally, I'd like to read more about where you go around town - in addition to restaurants, where do you hang out? Shope? Are there any places that are a bit off the beaten path that you'd recommend?

In the end though, it's your blog, so you should write about what YOU want to write about!

And thanks for your comment earlier - I started working with a personal trainer about a month and a half ago, and I've been writing about that endeavor on my non-cooking blog (http://annereallyblogs.blogspot.com). It's turning into much more than just exercising and eating better, so yeah, I'd call it an overhaul.

I relate to all your posts so I can't recommend a thing... but I will say I've come back more than a few times to search for restaurant reviews - I can never remember what's on my 'to do' list & it seems like you've tried them all! I say try new things and see what fits. (Love the table turning image!)
