The holiday spirit ~ it's finally hit me! I was beginning to worry there was something wrong with me, when the talk of Christmas trees and gifts and decor all started, I was still focused on Thanksgiving. But sometime this past weekend, my mind allowed me to make the switch, and I've been humming holiday tunes ever since.
Humming, and scouring the stores and interwebs for perfect holiday decor. This is the first Christmas in our new home, which allows me the opportunity to think new decorations! First up? Stockings. The husband and I have been waiting to get matching stockings until we had a proper mantel to decorate. I debated over the above for a while... it was even hard to pick out our pup's. I found I'm really liking felt and burlap stockings this year. They have just that little bit of modern "oomph" I like in my home.
Do you hang stockings? What look do you go for? Anyone still use theirs from childhood?

ok, i love the josie stocking, think it's adorable! my husband and i used our childhood stockings for some time, but eventually we needed to start our own family traditions, so i purchased standard red and white stockings with everyone's name embroidered on them. i tend to like the classics....
Yay! Glad you are feelin' the season. I'm kind of in the same boat...I'm going to Mexico for xmas and part of me wants to just skip the whole holiday!
We don't hang stockings, but I want to! I don't have a good spot for them at home right now, so Joel and I are just going to wrap the stocking stuffers, and hopefully next year my house will be more condusive!
I love these stockings - when I was younger we had handmade knit ones from my great grandma - maybe I'll get new personalized ones this year!
We put up stockings over the weekend for our cats, but don't have any for us yet. I used to love stockings when I was little...my mom made the BEST ones!
I love Christmas stockings! I just ordered two really adorable ones from Crate and Barrel of all places :) Great round up above!
Definitely still use mine from when I was a little girl. That pet ones are too cute.

Glad you got into the spirit! I am definitely there as I sit here in my living room looking at my tree. I still have my stockings from my childhood but never hang them. Wish I had a fireplace but I don't. Last year we hosted xmas eve and day so we hung stockings for our niece and nephews that night so they have them on Christmas morning :) xoxo
