I've started to conjure up a menu for the feast and have the goal to make everything fresh from scratch. It's not finalized, but is coming together. I've linked to recipes I currently have or have found, and will be researching recipes for other items. That means it's not too late to give me your tips and favorites (wink wink)!
~Thanksgiving Day Menu~
~To start and nibble~
mulled wine
antipasto platter
cinnamon sugar roasted pecans
~First course~
Butternut squash soup
~Second course~

I've also started a Thanksgiving Day {FEAST} pinboard on Pinterest ~ care to join me? Please pin to it whatever your heart desires to feast on this Thanksgiving!

Your menu sounds delicious!
Sounds like a great menu!
Looks so good! :)
Let me know if you still have my address... I will be waiting for my invite. That menu makes my mouth salivate!
Haha, Johanna, you and Mel have sent not too subtle hints as of late that I should host a fete and feed you! If you're up for it, I'm up for it!
Awesome! I've never hosted one..it's my moms favorite holiday, so I leave it up to her.
Yum! The hubs and I are in charge of the turkey and I'm going to make brussel sprouts as well. I was perusing Pinterest yesterday looking for a great recipe, but I think I'm still searching...Let me know what you find!
Wowza! this looks awesome.. I might steal some ideas :)
I'm hosting my first Thanksgiving too. Maybe I'll just copy your menu! ;)
I love Thanksgiving. This year I'm hosting my 7th Thanksgiving! Everything you're making looks really yummy, especially the cinnamon clove ice cream!
Since it's your first year, my tips are to not be too ambitious with your menu (my first Thanksgiving I thought it'd be a good idea to make homemade spinach puffs for the first time ever, which was a huge disaster), and make sure you plan enough time and oven/stove space to cook everything. I make as much as I can ahead of time, which is a huge help. Oh, and have fun :)
Sounds like a great list! I love hosting TG! My favorite holiday to host. Well now I've inherited xmas eve and day too which is nice but there's nothing like cooking for TG. Looks like you have it all under control :) xoxo
That sounds like a beautiful and tasty spread. Thanks so much for sharing! xo style, she wrote
Bookmarked the heck out this post. Love the first photo for presentation purposes, too. What a great idea to add fresh herbs!
I am impressed that you are going to make this turkey from scratch, and everything else!
YUM! Wish we did thanksgiving over here. i have 15 adults and 5 kiddies on Christmas day, going to have to take notes from here! ps love the plant in the background!
i LOVE brussels sprouts and my favorite way to prepare them is so simple: trim the ends, slice them in half and toss with olive oil, salt and pepper. spread them on a sheet pan and roast at 400 until the cut sides and outer leaves start to get really brown and crispy (i find it's 30-40 minutes). i made them this way for christmas last year and my family died over them. even the ones who have green vegetable phobia!
SO impressed. I'm sure it will be amazing! Can't wait for a recap!
